My Artistic Arena

My Artiste Statement

Being in Lasalle-SIA for almost one year had totally changed my perception of Fine Arts. All the things that I have learnt and discovered really made me realized how the Arts has influenced the world tremendously. Before I had the opportunity to study in Lasalle-SIA, I was actually being exposed more into the performing arts arena.

Unexpectedly, to get into the Arts Management course, I had to go through a year of Foundation Studies and what is more, I had to do drawing, printmaking, 3D work and more. I would say it was really a very big challenge for me as I had no background of the Fine Arts. However, I pushed myself by not giving up and kept my mind focused so that I could get into the course I wanted. The works in this portfolio are pictures of what I had learnt in Lasalle, all which I had given my best and that represents me as a person. Not to give up and to give all my best in everything I do. I am glad to have acquired the knowledge and this has definitely made me more disciplined and matured.

Other than that, the respect that I have for fine artists have really increased. How big the amount of effort put, in getting the materials into doing that piece of artwork. As well as the mental and physical challenges faced by the artists themselves to get their creativity ideas into action. I have never regretted my decision even once, being in this course and hopefully Arts in Singapore will continue to be recognized and prosper, so that a lot of young talents out there will get their opportunity to realize their dreams to have their own exhibitions or performances, both in the performing and Fine Arts arena. As for me, I will continue to stay focused to get as much knowledge as possible, so that in the future I could organize events for these young talents out there.
